Kyndal is a working artist. She already had the brand and the paintings, she just needed somewhere to show and sell them: originals, limited prints and a way to take commissions, all of it something she could keep updated herself.

The look and the branding are hers. My job was to build the whole thing, and to give it a feel that actually suited the work instead of a generic shop template.

What I built

  • A gallery split into originals and prints, with each piece on its own page and room for more than one image when a single photo isn't enough.
  • A commissions page for enquiries about custom pieces.
  • A self-serve admin, so Kyndal can add work, mark things as sold and update the site herself, without needing me in the loop.

The feel

Most of the effort went into making it feel physical. The paintings sit on a textured paper board that catches the light, with soft leaf-shadow drifting over it and pieces that lift a little as you hover. It's a lot more tactile than a shop usually gets, which felt right for an artist rather than a catalogue. There's a fair bit of performance work under all of that to keep it loading quickly and holding steady.

Since I was working with Kyndal directly, it went through a few rounds of her feedback until the details felt like hers.
